Enjoy a fun day on the Delaware River at Independence Seaport Museum on Penns Landing where you can discover the fascinating maritime heritage and contemporary stories of Philadelphias rivers, the Jersey Shore, and beyond.

The Seaport is one of the nations premier maritime museums and features two floors of exhibit galleries. You can walk under a towering replica of the Ben Franklin Bridge, climb into a steerage bunk to experience the ocean-crossing of a Philadelphia-bound immigrant, explore the oceans depths with looks at mini submarines, diving suits, and a mega aquarium brimming with Technicolor fish; investigate an 1885 lifeboat, historic Schuylkill River racing shells, and a 1910 Atlantic City Catboat; test your queasiness quotient in a rockin boat, and watch a crew of skilled craftsmen build wooden boats.

Then take a short walk to the biggest toys in town the Seaports two National Historic Landmark ships berthed in the Penns Landing Basin just outside the Museum. Climb aboard the Spanish-American War Cruiser Olympia, the worlds oldest steel floating warship, and descend into the tight compartments of the World War II Submarine Becuna experiences youll not soon forget!

The Seaport also has a treasure-laden gift shop and a full calendar of annual events, including a Wooden Boat Festival, Family Fun Days, outdoor summer movie series, and a Talk Like a Pirate Day extravaganza! The Seaport is open daily except for major holidays and admission includes both the Museum and historic ships.
