Now that it’s mid-October, Halloween is just around the corner! Here are some fun haunted attractions in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

“Terror Behind the Walls” (Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, Philadelphia PA)

Picture 2Ranked number 1 in 2008 by AOL’s City Guide, “Terror Behind the Walls” is the haunted destination for you to go in Philadelphia. “Terror Behind the Walls” is a massive haunted house in a real prison, and is made up of five separate haunted attractions inside the 11 acre complex.

Tickets are on sale now. They are reserved in 1/2 hour time slots. (The first time slot each evening is 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. The next time slot is 7:30 to 8:00…)

Weeknights: 7pm-10pm, $20

Fridays: 7pm-11pm, $25
Saturdays: 7pm-12am, $30

Sundays: 7pm-11pm, $25

Children under the age of 7 cannot be admitted to the site.

Ghost Tour of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA)

There is also a Haunted Trolley Tour where you will hear up to twenty spooky tales from Old City and Society Hill.  In addition to the two haunted tours, there is also a Ghost Hunt, where you will see for yourself why Philadelphia is known as the spookiest city in America.

Picture 1The “Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride,” located just outside Philadelphia, offers three terrifying Halloween attractions including: a frightening Haunted Hayride, the Bates Motel haunted house, and a walk through the Haunted Corn Maze.

“Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride” runs through Sunday, November 1.

Thursdays-Saturdays: 6:30pm-10:30pm

Scream Mountain at Spring Mountain PA (Spring Mount, PA)

Picture 5Experience the icy fingers of fear in the Haunted Ski Lodge.  Learn first hand of the Moutains early tragic history on the Haunted Hayride. In the late l800’s, stone was quarried on the Mountain. Those quarrymen and their families lost their lives to fire of an unknown (but suspicious) origin. It has been said that the quarrymen still roam the mountain seeking revenge! It is not safe to go there after dark…BEWARE!!!!
