L’Oca Bistro and the Wine School have joined together to offer you this splendid food and wine event. Every month, we are exploring the wines and cuisines of Italy, right here in Fairmount.

This month we are featuring the gastronomy of Milan. Being so close to the French border, the region is known for its great cheeses, and its use of both butter in sauces: a rarity in authentic Italian cuisine. Milan is also the spiritual home of some of the most beloved wintertime Italian dishes, including minestrone, rissoto, and osso buco.

Before dinner, you will enjoy a wine class hosted at the Wine School. You will learn about the food & wine of the region, plus enjoy a tasting of the region’s wines. This is a rare oppoturnity to enjoy wines such as Uva Rara, Vesponlina, and the sparkling wines of Franciacorta.

In this four course meal, you will savor classic examples of this cuisine: First course Polenta Concia; Second course Carpaccio of Stripped Bass with Citric Fennel Vinaigrette;  Third course Penne Al Mascarpone; And fourth course Cervo al Mirtilli. Guests are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine with them for dinner.
