January 12, 2010
PHILADELPHIA, PA – This Friday, January 15, from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., Philadelphia’s beloved Oyster House (1516 Sansom Street, 215-567-7683), will celebrate National Soup Day by serving their creamy, house-made New England Clam Chowder on the street in front of the restaurant. Owner Sam Mink will offer the hot soup pre-packaged to go for just $5 in honor of the occasion.
“Nothing beats a hot cup of hearty soup on a winter’s day, and our special Soup Day offering will allow guests who don’t have time to join us for lunch to grab a bowl and take it away to enjoy at their leisure,” says Mink. The soup will be conveniently packaged in a take-out cup with lid so that guests can walk up, purchase theirs and be on their way.
