Welcome to the Betsy Ross House home of Americas most famous flagmaker! Theres so much to see and do here. Tour the House, meet Betsy, in person, check out our changing exhibits and catch some of our free performances.

Here in the courtyard, the 18th century comes to life with colonial magic shows, crafters, storytellers and more.

Inside, you can take a self-guided tour or opt for our audio guide with a special version just for kids. Its filled with fun and fascinating historical facts about Betsys legend and Betsy, herself a working mother, entrepreneur and patriot a truly modern woman who lived 250 years ago!

During your tour, youll see:

the parlor where history tells us members of the Continental Congress including George Washington asked Betsy Ross to sew a flag for our new nation.

Betsys workshop where she ran her bustling upholstery trade.

Betsys bedroom where she worked late into the night on the first stars and stripes, away from the prying eyes of British soldiers and loyalists

The Betsy Ross House is located at 239 Arch Street, a short walk from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The House is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily April to October. It is closed on non-holiday Mondays the rest of the year.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
